Why service schedules aren't one-size-fits-all

Most trucks on the Sunshine Coast don't spend their life doing normal driving — they tow caravans, carry loads, do short suburban trips, or see occasional off-road and beach use. Each of those counts as severe duty under the manufacturer's own definitions, and severe duty schedules are meaningfully shorter than normal ones.

What's included in a Minor Service
American Truck Centre's Minor Service is a published, fixed-price service: $469 for 1500-series trucks and $599 for HD-series trucks. It covers the core scheduled maintenance items appropriate to that interval — oil and filter change, multi-point inspection, and the standard checks manufacturers specify at this stage. Anything beyond that scope, including major services, diagnostics, and any repair work identified during the inspection, is quoted separately once we know what's needed.
Minor Service pricing is $469 (1500-series) or $599 (HD-series). All other work — major services, diagnostics, repairs and parts replacement — is quoted individually once we've inspected the truck.
Why towing changes your service needs
Towing loads the engine, transmission and cooling system far harder than unladen driving, and transmission fluid in particular degrades faster under sustained towing heat. - Reduced power or hesitation, particularly when towing or under load
