GMC Sierra & Denali Specialists

Sierra 1500, 2500HD, Denali

GMC Sierra and Denali trucks share much of their driveline with the Chevrolet Silverado but bring their own adaptive suspension, MultiPro tailgate and trim-specific electronics. We service, diagnose and upgrade the full range at our Caloundra workshop.

  • Duramax diagnostics and DPF regeneration assessment
  • MultiPro tailgate mechanism and electronics faults
  • Towing setup, brake controllers and load support for caravan and boat towing

How Sierra servicing differs from Silverado

Mechanically the Sierra and Silverado are closely related — same engines, similar Allison transmission in HD trucks — so base servicing (oil, filters, fluids, brakes) follows the same schedule. Where they differ is trim-specific electronics: Denali's adaptive ride control, air-ride on some builds, and the MultiPro tailgate all need GMC-specific diagnostic access rather than generic Silverado data.

Service intervals and towing

Sierra 1500 petrol trucks are commonly 12,000 km or 12 months; Duramax HD trucks benefit from closer to 8,000–10,000 km intervals if used for regular towing. As with the Silverado, we recommend an Allison fluid service ahead of the book interval on any Sierra HD that tows a caravan or heavy trailer, plus load support setup (airbags or springs) and brake controller calibration for safe, legal towing.

Frequently asked questions

Is a Sierra serviced the same as a Silverado?
Mechanically they're very close, so base servicing is similar, but Denali trim adds adaptive suspension and MultiPro tailgate electronics that need model-specific diagnostics.
How much is a Sierra 1500 service?
1500-series minor servicing is a fixed $469; Sierra 2500HD/3500HD falls under HD-series servicing at $599.
Can you diagnose adaptive ride control faults on a Denali?
Yes — magnetic damper and air-ride issues on Denali trim need GMC-specific diagnostic access, which we carry.
Are GMC parts harder to find in Australia than Silverado parts?
Common driveline parts are shared with Silverado and generally available. Denali-specific trim electronics and MultiPro tailgate components can take longer to source.
Who services GMC Sierra trucks on the Sunshine Coast?
American Truck Centre in Caloundra is the dedicated Sunshine Coast specialist for Sierra and Denali servicing and diagnostics.
Can you set my Sierra 2500HD up for caravan towing?
Yes — weight assessment, brake controller fitment and load support are all part of our towing setup service.
