F-Series models we work on
| Model | Common engine | Typical use we see |
|---|---|---|
| F-150 | 3.5 EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 or 5.0 Coyote V8 | Family and light-medium towing |
| F-250 | 6.7 litre Power Stroke V8 diesel | Heavy caravan and trailer towing |
| F-350 | 6.7 litre Power Stroke, SRW or DRW | Heaviest towing, gooseneck/fifth-wheel |
Trim levels — Lariat, Platinum, King Ranch, Tremor — mostly affect equipment and ride height rather than base servicing needs. Nearly all F-Series trucks on Australian roads are remanufactured to right-hand drive; the Power Stroke, EcoBoost and Coyote engines and 10-speed transmissions remain factory US-spec, while steering and some electronics are converter-specific.
Common F-Series issues
- Power Stroke EGR, DPF and exhaust back-pressure faults, especially on trucks doing mostly short trips
- 10R80 (F-150) and 10R140 (F-250/F-350) transmission shift quality and fluid condition under towing
- EcoBoost cam phaser rattle and timing chain noise on higher-kilometre F-150 trucks
- Front-end wear from heavy ball weight and lifted setups
- Trailer brake module and towing electronics faults, particularly on trucks fitted with aftermarket brake controllers
- Turbo actuator and injector wear on high-kilometre Power Stroke engines
Service intervals
F-150 trucks are commonly on a 12,000 km or 12-month interval. F-250/F-350 Power Stroke diesels are similar on paper but, as with other US diesels, we recommend time-based servicing over stretching kilometres for any truck that tows regularly, does mostly short trips, or works in dusty conditions.
F-250 and F-350 towing
The F-250 and F-350 are among the strongest tow vehicles on Australian roads, but the same GVM and GCM rules apply regardless of the brochure figure. We weigh, assess and set up F-Series trucks for caravan work, including brake controller calibration, rear load support and pre-trip inspections before long trips.
Parts availability
Power Stroke and 10-speed transmission service parts are generally well supported given F-Series volume in Australia. RHD-conversion-specific electronics and some trim-specific parts can carry longer lead times, which we'll flag upfront rather than let a job stall.

Frequently asked questions
- How much is an F-150 service?
- A fixed $469 for a 1500-series-equivalent minor service on the F-150.
- How much is an F-250 service?
- F-250 and F-350 fall under HD-series servicing at a fixed $599 for a minor service.
- Do you service the 10-speed transmission?
- Yes. We service the 10R80 and 10R140 with the correct fluid and carry out adaptive relearns afterwards so shift quality is restored properly.
- Are Power Stroke parts hard to get in Australia?
- Common service items are generally available without long delays given F-Series volume locally. Less common electronics or RHD-specific parts can take longer — we'll quote a realistic timeframe.
- Who can service my F-250 on the Sunshine Coast?
- American Truck Centre in Caloundra is the Sunshine Coast's dedicated specialist for F-Series servicing, Power Stroke diagnostics and towing setup.
- Can you diagnose EcoBoost cam phaser noise on my F-150?
- Yes — cam phaser rattle on higher-kilometre EcoBoost engines is a pattern fault we check for and can diagnose properly rather than just clearing the code.
- Can you set my F-350 up for a fifth-wheel or gooseneck caravan?
- Yes — we assess GVM/GCM, check hitch and wiring, and set up brake controllers and load support for heavy towing setups.
- Does servicing here affect my Ford warranty?
- No — under Australian Consumer Law, independent servicing to the manufacturer's schedule with correct parts and fluids doesn't void warranty, and we document every service.
